	2. Today, I’m going to talk about filtration and movement of pathogens in the subsurface and experiments that we’ve done with microbial surrogates rather than pathogens
	3. Some of these surrogates are  illustrated in the photo here  ( protists, bacteria, microspheres and bacteriophage)
	4.  The socks over the pants are a not a protection from the radiolabled viruses that we used, but from the lyme-disease ticks that were prevalent in the Cape Cod area where we performed our field tests.
