                                 04196000 SANDUSKY RIVER NEAR BUCYRUS, OHIO


LOCATION.--Lat 40048'13", long 83000'21", in NE 1/4 sec. 10, T.3 S., R.16 E., Crawford County, Hydrologic Unit 
04100011, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on township road, 1 mi upstream from unnamed left bank 
tributary, 1.5 mi west of Bucyrus, and 12 mi downstream from Loss Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--88.8 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--August 1925 to November 1935, July 1938 to December 1951, December 1963 to September 1981, October 
1995 to current year.
REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 744: 1925-32. WSP 874: 1938. WSP 1307: 1926(M), 1928(M), 1931, 1932(M), 1934-35(M), 1939, 
1940(M), 1946(M). WSP 1912: Drainage area.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 955.04 ft above sea level. Prior to May 11, 1940, nonrecording gage, 
and May 12, 1940, to December 31, 1951, water-stage records are poor. Low flow slightly affected by operation of 
reservoirs 5.3 mi to 6.0 mi upstream from station for municipal supply of Bucyrus. Water-quality and sediment 
data collected at this site.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of March 23, 1913 reached a stage of 14.5 ft, from floodmarks. Flood of 
January 22, 1959, reached a stage of 11.9 ft, from floodmarks; discharge, 13,500 ft3/s.
