				     04209000 CHAGRIN RIVER AT WILLOUGHBY, OHIO

LOCATION.--Lat 41037'51", long 81024'13", in T.9 N., R.10 W., Lake County, Hydrologic Unit 04110003, on left bank, 
150 ft downstream from city waterworks dam, 800 ft downstream from East Branch, 1.0 mi southeast of Willoughby, 
and 5.0 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--246 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1925 to November 1935, October 1939 to 1984, March 25, 1988 to September 1994, October 1, 
1995, to September, 1996. (July 1925 to September 1932 monthly runoff in inches, adjusted for diversion, published 
in WSP 1307; previously published runoff was unadjusted and should not be used).
REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1084: 1929(M), 1931(M). WSP 1307: 1926-28(M), 1930(M), 1932-35(M), 1942(M). WSP 1912: Drainage

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 594.57 ft above sea level. Prior to Dec. 20, 1939, nonrecording gage 
at site 150 ft upstream at datum 7 ft higher.
REMARKS.--Records fair except for periods of estimated record, which are poor. Water diverted 200 ft upstream from 
station for municipal supply of city of Willoughby until 1988, when water treatment plant was relocated downstream 
of gaging station. Water-quality and sediment data collected at this site.
